Event Comments:

The 2026 SMEA Graduation Celebration will be held on Thursday, June 11th in Foege Auditorium 060.

Doors will open for guests at 11:30 AM. This is a ticketed event, everyone entering the auditorium requires a ticket. The Graduating Student will provide these tickets to their guests.

The ceremony will begin at 12:00 PM.

Celebratory refreshments will be offered for guests immediately following the ceremony in the Fisheries Lobby.

Graduating Students:
Please meet prior to the ceremony at the designated location and time for a class photo and to line up for the processional.

Cap & Gown Required? / Dress Code

Optional

While cap and gown are not required, most students prefer to wear them. Please coordinate with SEAS to borrow a cap and gown or the UW bookstore to purchase one: https://www.washington.edu/graduation/registrationorder-form/

For those not wearing a cap and gown "business casual" or "dressy" is recommended.

Ticket Information:

This is a ticketed event. Everyone attending, with the exception of the graduating student, needs a ticket. Graduating Students please fill out the departmental RSVP form. Graduates will be given 4 tickets each and additional requests will be considered on a space available basis. Instructions on where to pick up your tickets will be publicized within the department.

Parking Information

If you wish to park on campus for this event, a UW Special Event Parking Permit will be required. Students should purchase these permits for themselves and their guests through the Commencement Registration/Order Form, May 11 to May 24, 2026. Day of parking may be available for additional cost, but lot selection and availability are not guaranteed.
