The UW School of Medicine PhD Hooding Ceremony acknowledges the achievements of students receiving doctoral degrees from the University of Washington School of Medicine. This event is held to honor the students graduating from biomedical research programs within the UW School of Medicine.

Husky Union Building - Lyceum Room
Cap & Gown Required? / Dress Code
Yes
Participating students and faculty will need to wear regalia.
Ticket Information:
Students will need to register to participate. Eligible students will receive registration information through their program or department's graduate program advisor. If you did not receive the registration information and should have, please contact somevent@uw.edu.
Parking Information
If you wish to park on campus for this event, a UW Special Event Parking Permit will be required. Students should purchase these permits for themselves and their guests through the Commencement Registration/Order Form, Mid May to May 24, 2026. Day of parking may be available for additional cost, but lot selection and availability are not guaranteed.
