The Political Science Convocation celebrates each year's B.A., M.A. and Ph.D. graduates. The celebration includes departmental undergraduate awards, a speech by an undergraduate, and a speech by the recipient of the Department's Distinguished Alumni Award. Each graduating student crosses the stage as their names are read.
The Convocation will be livestreamed for those who will not attend in person.

Ticket Information:
Because seating in the HUB Ballroom will be at capacity and must comply with fire code, each participating graduate may invite up to 4 guests (more guests will be considered if space allows). When the ballroom fills, we will have an overflow room with a professional quality live stream (also an excellent option for families with small children). For anyone who cannot attend in person, the live stream will be available for family and friends to watch comfortably at home or on the go, locally or anywhere in the world.
Parking Information
If you wish to park on campus for this event, a UW Special Event Parking Permit will be required. Students should purchase these permits for themselves and their guests through the Commencement Registration/Order Form, May 11 to May 24, 2026. Day of parking may be available for additional cost, but lot selection and availability are not guaranteed.
